Our Story

Actually, my goal was to heal myself.

I struggled with skin problems for many years. Acne that didn’t appear during adolescence erupted all over my face in my final year of university. As some of the pimples healed, they left behind red marks and scars. Looking in the mirror and mingling with people was truly challenging.

The spots that began after the birth of my second child spread almost all over my face once I stopped breastfeeding. Pimples were accompanied by marks, and I was getting older.

Many doctors I visited helped improve my skin, but once the treatment ended, the pimples mostly returned, and the spots never disappeared.

I started researching to find a permanent solution for the problems on my face. Over time, I learned which ingredients were good for my skin and which combinations worked best. Pimples almost stopped appearing, acne scars and red marks were fading, and now it was time to tackle the spots.

Why spots form, how to prevent them, and how they can fade were topics that occupied my mind the most. As I learned and applied what I learned, and used products with the right ingredients, my spots began to fade. It felt truly miraculous. People no longer looked at me with pity, asking, “What happened to you?”

The pandemic was difficult for many of us. During the economic crisis in the pandemic, the suicides of two men I didn’t know triggered my trauma again, leaving me unable to do anything for weeks. A close female friend, trying to redirect my attention and help me get back on my feet, suggested I start an Instagram page. Thinking it might help me, I created a page where I could spend time with women and share my experiences.

The Instagram page I started received more attention than I expected. The connections I made with women there helped me immensely. I began thinking about how to simplify the complicated skincare routines that felt so easy to me for other women.

Life, as it often does, presented amazing opportunities and people, and almost a year after my Instagram page, we launched the Jijivisha brand together with my husband Tamer and our friend Özgür, a brand whose meaning I admire deeply.
